Kafan or Shroud is a Hindi the heart-touching story

Introduction:

Hindi Indian writer Munsi Premchand shook the Literary world to write the everlasting masterpiece "Kafan". It means a white cloth for wrapping the dead body. It is a story of two lazy and careless persons- Gishu and Madhav. A pathetic sensation that must have made you cry. The inhumanity between father- Ghisu and son- Madhav, not only destroys Budhiya's life but also the upcoming innocent baby.

Ghisu is cursed in the name of father:

A father is always responsible for his family. His ethical principles show not only the path of his family but also the society. But in the story, Gishu has not such a quality as a father but full of quality to misguide his son and the people. He always showed laziness and smoking and drinking are the most important part of his life. Both father and son drink and smoke together, steal and misguide the people to earn money. It is very pathetic when his daughter-in-law's heart-beating crying did not change the mind of Ghisu but after the death of her, they enjoyed drinking, smoking and singing with the money donated by people for buying Kafan.

Madhav is a misguided son and husband:

Son always follows his family, but where father was lazy and misguided then what happens in the life of son. Madhav always follows his father's every work and accepts without justifying wrong or right. As a husband, he totally forgot about his responsibility to his wife and upcoming baby, while his wife was ready to die from childbearing agony, Madhav was busy eating hot roasted potatoes with his father and hearing the delicious food items that his father ate. How could a person ignore such a kind of reality and jump into the world of imagination? And pray to die for his wife as soon as possible.

Budhiya's life without Kafan:

Budhiya was the wife of Madhav, she was not such kind of them, she tried to maintain and cared for his family, but a true good person always suffered. It turned into a terrible situation when her labor pain started. And it is the most painful situation for a woman because men do not suffer such kind of labor. And it is also deadly when no one supports her. It happens in Budhiya's life. Her heart-breaking sound changed the cold atmosphere but not the mind of Ghisu and Madhav. She suffers all night on the dusty floor and dies with her baby in the womb.

Careless and laziness person never buy a Kafan to tribute:

It is true Ghisu and Madhav belong to a poor  family in the story but every successful person reaches one's destination to do hard work. Ghisu was not too old to work and his son was young blooded. If Ghisu did work properly and inspired his son to care about family, that situation never came into their life and Budhiya did not die with deadly pain. But carelessness and laziness bind the mind's eye to both of them. Even the public  donate money to buy a Kafan for Budhiya but they spend it at the bar to enjoy drinking and smoking.

Conclusion:

So, in the story, famous Hindi writer Munsi Premchand creates an irony that the poor may not be cursed in the society but careless, laziness, all time drinking, smoking, misguided are such things that never succeed to reach a particular destination. For that not only destroy one's life but the family's future and have a negative impact on society. Ghisu and Madhav do not give Kafan as tribute to Bhudiya, but readers must be given it to feel it. So, we can say Literature is the mirror of life.
