Sketch the character of Bathsebha

"Frailly, thy name is woman "- say Hamlet, these observationa if applied to the heroines of Thomas Hardy, then Bathsebha of Far From The Madding Crowd is suitable one to justify this statement .She processes grave features for she is samaritan manager of  farm servant , she is more down to earth then Hardy's  other heroines like Tess, Sue, Infride and Eustacia. If she is tempted it is only because she lacks in a strong and strict guardian behind her .We cannot say either of understanding or like Bathsebha but need some time to justify the character. She is young lady of inconsequential and willful but though misfortune and suffering ,she develops into a wise and good beloved. The matured Bathsebha may have to depends on Gabriel Oak at critical hours but she is a courageous woman in her right and she has been changed by responsibility and disaster .

From the very beginning Hardy intents to presents Bathsebha's temperamental impositions to exercise , control over man .In the first chapter Bathsebha regards her features in a mirror and she images "dramas in which man would play  a part -vistas of probable triumphs ".The first player of Bathsebh's stage , Gabriel Oak ,a hardwork  shepherd , felt in love with her and courts her, finally proposes her but Bathsebha's tolerable speech to audience of Oak,  when say :

"I wants somebody to tame me , I am too Independent , and you would never be able to, I know."

Bathsebha's second audacious journey  turned into new twist .She threw a arrow of love into the heart of Boldwood , a gentle farmer also joking on Valentine festival with on seal "Marry me " . Hardy describes Boldwood as a man whose emotions held in the fine balance but balance brakes for one and he becomes the victims of infatuation for Bathsebha, but he thoughts everything is lost and beginning more much pang and pine , then peace of Mind's atmosphere when she  wedded Troy, a surgent .

Bathsebha , too , suffer certain drop back in the field of love Troy. He is handsome , flattering and masterful. What more could a woman want in her lover ? Bathsebha's things Troy would the part of her life, did, when they married. Bathsebha also expresses her on occasions .On one occasion , when Oak tells her that she would  not have played a coquettish tricks on Boldwood, she fires on him and dismisses on the spot .When she had overheard the ill speaking of Troy from her maid servants ,she rises her sound and fury Temper.

Bathsebha character depends on the lion's share of love labyrinth. But brings a woman, she was sympathetic when Gabriel goes to reach at the door of her, it cause of smoking in the hut , she comes and givens rebirth like a drop of Nectar not for lovers but charity. She also has to surrender her Pride by seeking Gabriel's help to save the life of the unhappy sheeps. Even after Troy's death , she bears her windowhood with calmness and courage. she is completely free from deceit and guide. "Bathsheba smiled " is Hardy's  final comment but not much more than a page , the book ends and hard horrific experiences is squeezed down into a modified girlishness. Ultimately she mixed with Gabriel's untame and flatterness mind of love forever.

Though she suffers from a number of falses, of weakness but that faults learned right and weakness turned into strongly like her practical sense , her self - confidence and purity of maidenly and become equal  with man and make her wealth of a heroine.

                         END.
